Whilst we were conducting a routine health check on the electrics (EICR) for this hospitality property, we came across this cracker, which showcases exactly why routine EICRs are so important, especially in-depth ones.

We knocked on the duty managers door and told them we'll have to confiscate their fan heater. They asked why, which is when we showed them the offending article. 

The tell tale signs of the thermal damage we see here may have only ever been picked up by smell, if this device was constantly plugged in and was never unplugged or moved.
